Exercise-induced traumatic muscle injuries with active bleeding successfully treated by embolization: three case reports

چکیده
Muscle injuries caused by indirect trauma during exercise are common. Most of these can be managed conservatively; however, further treatment is required in extreme cases. Although transcatheter arterial embolization a possible modality, its role traumatic muscle remains unclear. In this case series, we present three cases exercise-induced hemorrhage treated with successful outcomes. The damaged muscles were the rectus abdominis, adductor longus, and iliopsoas, vascular accessed via femoral artery procedures.

Jejunal Variceal Bleeding Successfully Treated with Percutaneous Coil Embolization
A 52-yr-old male with alcoholic liver cirrhosis was hospitalized for hematochezia. He had undergone small-bowel resection due to trauma 15 yr previously. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy showed grade 1 esophageal varices without bleeding. No bleeding lesion was seen on colonoscopy, but capsule endoscopy showed suspicious bleeding from angiodysplasia in the small bowel. After 2 weeks of conservative t...
متن کاملRecurrent gastrointestinal bleeding with ANCA associated glomerulonephritis successfully treated by transarterial embolization
Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis (AAV) is a group of autoimmune diseases that normally affects multiple organs. Recurrent gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, a critical complication of AAV, remains a challenge. Here, we report a case of AAV complicated by pulmonary hemorrhage, severe recurrent gastrointestinal bleeding, and rapid progressive renal insufficiency that was tr...
متن کاملDuodenal Diverticular Bleeding Successfully Treated Using Transcatheter Arterial Embolization: a case report
We present a case of an 82-year-old man with duodenal diverticular bleeding (DDB) who was successfully treated using transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE). Initially, endoscopy results indicated duodenal bleeding; however, the exact bleeding site could not be located. A follow-up computed tomography (CT) scan revealed contrast extravasation from a periampullary duodenal diverticulum. Repeat...
متن کامل―Case Reports― Recurrent Gallstone Ileus Successfully Treated with Conservative Therapy
Gallstone ileus is a rare complication of cholecystolithiasis, with the majority of cases requiring surgical treatment. In this paper, we describe a case of gallstone ileus that was successfully treated twice with conservative therapy. An 85-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of abdominal pain and vomiting. She had previously been treated with antibiotics for cholecystitis aris...
متن کاملParastomal Variceal Bleeding Attributed to Obstructive Pathology Successfully Treated by Percutaneous Variceal Embolization
Parastomal variceal bleeding is a rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding, but it should be considered as a potential etiology in patients with portal hypertension and surgical stomas. Though standard endovascular management has not yet been established, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is a recommended treatment option leading to decompression of underlying portal hypertens...
